Firearm Safety Class
This safety course is designed to address the topic of firearms and safety with children while providing a positive, welcoming, and fun learning experience for young people. Safe, responsible, and ethical use of firearms will be promoted during this class.
We believe in EDUCATION NOT ISOLATION! Firearm safety is the result of education, skill, and experience...not ignorance. Firearm education has been proven to help reduce accidental gun deaths.

What will this class cover?
This class and range practice will cover the following topics:
• Introduction to firearms
• Importance of safety
• Gun-safety rules
• Basic terms/firearms familiarization
• Basic functions/firearms familiarization
• Promotion and demonstration of safe firearm handling
• Careers in Firearms and related industries
• Basic shooting fundamentals
• Entry level dry/live fire drills (At the gun range)
Does this class cost me anything?
No, this class is totally free to those who register. Everything you will need relating to the course (firearm, ammo, etc. ) will be provided free of cost to you.
However, you will be responsible for all transportation to the classroom and gun range sessions.
Where will the classroom portion be held?
The classroom portion of the class will be at the following location:

Dates:
• Thursday, July 17th (7pm – 9pm)
• Thursday, July 24th (7pm – 9pm)
** Students are required to attend just one of the above sessions.
Where will the gun range portion be held?
The gun range portion of the class will be at the following location:
Cardinal Gun Range
3547 County Rd 225
Marengo, OH 43334
Dates:
• Saturday, July 26th (3:30 pm – 5:30 pm)
• Sunday, July 27th (3:30 pm – 5:30 pm)
** Students are required to attend just one of the above sessions.
Do I have to attend class with my child?
Yes!
All children will require at least one adult chaperone for the duration of both class sessions (Classroom & range visit).
No child may be dropped off at class without an adult family member with them.
Do I need my own firearm for the gun range?
No, everything you will need (firearm, ammo, targets, eye & ear protection, etc. ) will be provided free of cost to you.
Also, please DO NOT bring your own firearm or ammunition to the gun range. Thank you!
Can I bring my own firearm to the range?
No! Outside firearms are not permitted at this event.
We will provide everything you need for this class (firearm, ammo, targets, eye & ear protection, etc. ).
What does my child have to do to receive credit for passing this class?
In order to receive credit and their corresponding certificate for completing this class, the student and adult companion must complete BOTH of the classes they registered for. One classroom training and one range visit.
Will there be any makeup sessions?
As of now there will not be makeup sessions, so make sure you attend both of the sessions (1 classroom & 1 gun range) that you registered for.
